Who we are
In 1999, the Late King Hassan II entrusted HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa with the primary mission of monitoring the tourist beaches that are most vulnerable to human activity.
The Operation « Faisons sourire nos plages » was born and was a great success with the public. To harness this collective enthusiasm for a broader, His Majesty King Mohammed VI established the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment in 2001 and entrusted to the Presidency His Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasna.
Since its inception, the Foundation has developed, thanks to the efforts and commitment of public and private partners, innovative programs and projects (Qualit'Air, flowering Cities ...) and introduced in Morocco four programs of FEE (Blue Flag, Young Reporters for the Environment, Eco-Schools and Green Key).
Partnership between The Foundation for Environmental Education and the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment:
A year after its creation, the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, adhered in July 2002 The Foundation for Environmental Education, FEE, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. This desired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasna membership illustrates the desire to make the protection of the Environment, the Case of all.
Through this partnership, the mission that the Mohammed VI Foundation is set for the Protection of the Environment, is to accelerate the awareness of the impact of human activities on the environment and allow all develop the attitudes and skills necessary for sustainable development.
FEE's mission is relayed in each member country by a single NGO becomes the exclusive operator in charge of implementing its various programs. In Morocco, the FEE is represented by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment.
